INGREDIENTS:Each tablet contains: Esomeprazole 20mg (as Magnesium Trihydrate).
Do not use:- for children under 18 years of age.- if allergic to esomeprazole.- if allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).- if you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.- if you are taking cilostazol a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.- if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.- -f you are experiencing weight loss, persistent regurgitation of food or vomiting, difficulty swallowing or symptoms of gastro-intestinal bleeding, except on medical advice- if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant except on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist- if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed. This is often a sign of a more serious condition called acid reflux. If you have heartburn, make sure to take this medicine with food, as esomeprazole can cause heartburn.
Some people have heartburn when taking Nexium Control, while others may have only minor symptoms.
Nexium Control is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It blocks the action of PPI medications by decreasing the amount of acid that is produced. Nexium Control is not recommended for children.
Symptoms of heartburn include persistent or sore stomach pain, frequent pain in the stomach or clear stools, itching or sweating, nausea, and a burning of the skin or mucus.

If you miss a dose of Nexium Control, take it as soon as you remember. If it is the last dose that is up to time, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.

The safety of Nexium (esomeprazole) has been evaluated in patients with severe chronic diarrhea that is caused by impaired intestinal function. In the United States, an estimated 24 million patients are hospitalized with chronic diarrhea.1 In Canada, the Canadian Food and Drug Administration (CFI) has evaluated the safety of Nexium (esomeprazole) in the treatment of severe chronic diarrhea. In Canada, the Canadian drugstore (CIP) provides Nexium (esomeprazole) to customers in the form of a prescription.
When evaluating the safety of Nexium, a study was performed to evaluate the effects of long-term treatment with Nexium on gastrointestinal motility and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a rabbit model of chronic diarrhea. The results showed that the anti-inflammatory cytokines, IL-6 and IL-1, are up-regulated in the colon of rats treated with the drug. The increased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the colon has been shown to be associated with the up-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines in colonic tissue of rats after chronic treatment with the drug.
